Ambong-Ambong Welcomes the World: Visit Malaysia 2026

Ambong blog

As Malaysia gets ready to greet the global community for Visit Malaysia 2026, there’s no better time to rediscover the natural beauty and hospitality that make the country truly special.

Among the many destinations, Langkawi stands out as a rare blend of rainforest, sea, and island culture, offering travellers both adventure and relaxation.

Also known as the Jewel of Kedah, this island is the perfect escape after exploring the vibrant city vibes and cultural buzz of Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Melaka – a sanctuary where time slows and nature takes the lead.

Experience Slow Travel at Ambong-Ambong

Nestled between rainforest and sea, our resorts embody the spirit of slow travel. Start your day with the healing light of sunrise, proven to boost mood and restore your natural rhythm, or choose to end the evening with the soft glow of sunset over the Andaman Sea. For the wellness lover, join our morning yoga class and nourish your soul with a balanced breakfast at Pegaga Vegan Cafe. After you’re done exploring the island, book a table at Rimba Sky, where you can enjoy delicious Malaysian, Nyonya, and Asian flavours while the sun sets beyond the horizon.

Easy Connectivity

Langkawi is now more accessible than ever. The island is just a short flight away; less than an hour from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA or KLIA2) and Penang, and about 90 minutes from Singapore. If you enjoy travelling by land and are adventurous, it’s possible to enter Malaysia through the Malaysia-Thailand border in Perlis or Kedah states. Langkawi is a short distance away from there, taking roughly 1 hour and 2 hours to reach. The addition of Langkawi to any Malaysia travel itinerary can be both convenient and rewarding.

In 2026, Langkawi will be a part of the nationwide celebration of Malaysian culture and nature, with a wide offering of eco-tours, rainforest hikes, and local experiences.  As the world turns its gaze to next year’s event, the island prepares to welcome those who seek not just a holiday, but a deeper connection: to nature, to culture, and to themselves.
